- - - - hair, The Corona family is literally crowned with the darkest of locks. From Alondra (Lourdes’ mother) to Antonio (her father), to all three of her siblings (Rafael, Amado and Bibiana), all of them have the same dark coffee locks. Normally, Lourdes appears to have the darkest of hair, the locks all the same hue. However, when out and about in the west coast sunshine, it has the subtlest of natural highlights interwoven in it. These mostly range within the auburn hues, shining just a little brighter when doused with sunrays. As for style, she’s kept her hair long since she was a child and has no intentions of ever cutting it. It remains well passed her shoulders and slightly curled. Unless, that is, she is attending church (which she’s a regular visitor of). Church requires long, meticulously done plaits. She’s not one for being over the top in that sense because Lourdes is the picture of piety on Sunday mornings.
- - - - fashion sense, Fact: Lourdes’ outfit on the day-to-day probably costs more than your rent…multiplied by ten. She’s the Couture Queen. Yes, she doesn’t afford a lot of it on her own being born into the family she has. But in any case, she definitely knows how to shop with a grace that amazes even God. From Cavalli to Prada to Versace, she’s got every base covered. Her outfits will be coordinated down to the last thread, so help her Jesus. She favors the most decadent but don’t misconstrue her keen eye for all things haute. Occasionally on her most casual days, Lourdes will wear American Apparel as if her life has been dictated by it. Hence the multi-hued skinny jeans and plain tanks. Other times, she’s resplendent in barely-there shifts and mini-dresses. Contradictory to her pristine image? Probably. But fashion doesn’t need to make sense.

- - - - overall personality,
haughty
It could be her heritage (traceable to some royal lineage). It could be her upbringing. It could be her wealth. Whatever it is, Lourdes’ largest vice is her attitude. Her Holier-Than-Thou persona. She can condescend about religious fervency like no one’s business. She knows every hymn, proverb, scripture, song and there’s nothing you can do to convince her otherwise. It’s not very Catholic of her to be so arrogant but then again, her Divine Right surely justifies it all. It’s best to not argue on those days when she’s got the crucifix about her neck and the Holy Sacraments on her tongue. She will go on forever and the supercilious air will not just suddenly vanish. If anything, it will get worse. Much, much worse. You aren’t about to change her with your stray ways. She’s not going to indulge in your garbage, lascivious pop music and your outfit? Well…she’ll go to mass and pray for you to Mary on Sunday.
reserved
Winning Lourdes over is easily compared to splitting atoms. But that’s about it. She doesn’t stroll up to people to strike random conversation. In fact, just an off look can turn her from someone for a lifetime, not to mention an off ensemble. Distance is her preferred method of social interaction until she is politely and properly introduced. Lourdes doesn’t mind so much if people introduce themselves, so long as they do it in a decorous manner. However, at all social events with her family, she will remain the silent daughter standing on the other side of her father, arm linked in his as her parents schmooze with the other partygoers. If someone makes a reference to her, she may offer a slight smile, eyes demurely lowered but Lourdes doesn’t make a show of herself and she really despises girls that go out of their way to become pretty peacocks. Clearly that have no idea about etiquette.
strong
Lourdes believes that with God, all things are possible. She remains resolute in the face of catty friends, family feuds and other such things because she has an unshakable faith. On more than one occasion, she’s had the knife turned in her back. But Lourdes held in her tears and walked away, vowing not to let the failures of others get under her skin. She would forgive them later when they came back as they always did. Her most serious boyfriend effectively crushed her heart in it’s chest and shattered every rib (especially due to him being her first). However much it was agonizing, Lourdes spent her time in the confessional, whispering every ill-willed death wish against him to a patient priest. But she never begged him back, never gave a second glance. Arguments between her father and her wayward uncle Javier have left her shaken on many nights but not once did she pain her mother with her grievances. God is her pillar, her strength. As such, Lourdes faces each day as untouchable as a marble statue.
loyal
Loyalty is one of the most important trait’s a person can possess in Lourdes’ book. If you don’t have loyalty, what good is anything else you offer? Your love is counterfeit. Your affection a ruse. Your time a waste. That said, she’s loyal to those she pledges herself to. It’s not hard to discern either. She is a straight-shooter and you’ll know within seconds just how she feels about you. If she loathes you - expect nothing. If you are loved and treasured - expect unwavering loyalty that has no bounds (within religion and reason). Naturally, due to the still waters running deep, Lourdes does not keep many friends. Nor does she entertain many men. Her circle is close-knit and carefully chosen.
playful
So you’ve passed the icy charm. You’ve sidestepped the sophisticated silence. And you just ignored the quiet disdain altogether. Well, welcome to Lourdes behind the mask for society. The girl behind the piety and perfection. She enjoys working with small children and volunteering her time to Big Sisters. All the younger girls she’s mentored love her because she knows how to have a good time that isn’t concerning drugs, alcohol or promiscuity. A rarity in this day and age. Additionally, she can be found spending a quiet afternoon with her sister in the hammock in the Corona country home, perusing fashion magazines and trading silly comments about the latest ‘in thing’ for those with no sense at all. On weekends, she likes riding with the top down and playing old Billie Holiday music. Lourdes enjoys a pillow fight more than most twenty year-olds and movie nights? Her absolute favorite so long as Ben Stiller is involved or Vince Vaughn and maybe a big bowl of popcorn for that appropriately tossed kernel at the nearest person.
& composed.
& altruistic.

the homeland
The Coronas lived in Madrid, Spain for the majority of Lourdes’ life. She was born the oldest of four children and one in the long line of cousins and grandchildren. Her family never had been rooted in anywhere other than Spain and had been content with such until she turned seventeen. Her father’s clientele had a strong demand in the States and over dinner one night, they discussed it as a family. The prospect of moving overseas permanently so that his line would truly thrive due to the ability to devote more time to it. It meant uprooting the entire family from a place where they were so completely at home due to extended family and familiarity. Cassie knew how deeply upset her siblings were at the time, Rafael’s cheeks turning red with fury and she did what any responsible older child would do: she cleared the way to a new start. Sitting down with all of her siblings at once after her father’s initial proposal, she soothed any worries and quieted any cropping of qualms. A small part of her wished to start over and this truly seemed like a blessing in disguise for there was nothing she wished for more than to be away from Spain. It had been just weeks before that she’d discovered her longtime boyfriend had been sleeping with a member of her church. Indeed, looking back, her motives for encouraging the move may not have been entirely altruistic at the time but Lourdes had never regretted it. Her parents’ happiness and siblings subsequent delight with the new country only reinforced such sentiments.
across the sea
Los Angeles was another world compared to where Lourdes had come from. It was populated with the worst types of people and even more worse types of religious strays. There was no devotion to God even at her private Catholic school, Lourdes often walking in on smokers and lesbian activity in the girls’ rooms. She was confronted daily with enticements of the worst kind and really, those first six months were the most trying in her teenage life. So much so, she spent most of her time in the Our Lady of Perpetual Hope cathedral or in bible study or prayer or with her family at home. Most of the youth her age simply could not be trusted to do something that didn’t concern sex, salacious behavior and alcoholic stupor. She knew that there was no one worth her time and so she went to school with one intent: to learn. Other than that, the sinful ways of Los Angeles, Lourdes spent her company in the presence of adults or the lesser fortunate. Church only was a refuge when other people her age weren’t around; Lourdes knew what hypocrites they were outside the holy walls and it irritated her beyond all measure. Seventeen was a very lonely year for her.
the upbringing
Her senior year at school brought about Lourdes carving her own niche in the world. Due to her circulation with adults, she’d cultivated herself into a role model at an early age. The hours devoted to volunteering in Los Angeles’ poorer neighborhoods brought about a sense of worldliness; she‘d seen how the other half lived in near third-world conditions. As such, she made friends with adults and had lunch dates, not movie dates. She organized charity dinners to raise money for inner-city children and school supplies, she didn’t organize parties. On her off days that she wasn’t spending with her father at the studio or church or with her sister at ballet practice, Lourdes was at Big Sisters, showering the girls there with little gifts that would have cost their mother’s two month’s work to pay for. Her social circle had widened but remained restricted to people older than herself or too young to be interested in the idiot pastimes of her peers.
Upon graduating, she had the opportunity to move back to Spain and attend the university there. Her father had permitted it and even arranged a stay for her with relatives. But Lourdes had found that Los Angeles suited her fine, she would make her mark on the place without having gossip columns make their mark on her. And so, she remained within the high-rises of L.A., utterly immersed in high fashion and high hopes.
coming of age
As an adult, Lourdes has discovered a few things. She is a lot more resilient than she looks. She has a talent for color-coordination. She enjoys helping those less fortunate. She repels the worst kind of person. All of these followed her graduation, Lourdes entering a different stage of growth. She moved out of her parents’ home, much to their chagrin but lives alone in a loft down the way from them. Way, way down. Literally a state over; that‘s right. She moved to Las Vegas. Due to her jam-packed schedule, she has had nothing more than flirtatious first glances and pleasant introductions in her career thus far. Her agenda is simply too consumed with attaining an internship with a major designer (she can’t ride on the coattails of her father), working with the city for new youth centers, teaching part-time at the local Sunday school, taking care of her cat and church. Maybe now that she’s starting to slow down a bit, take a look around, she’ll branch out. Or she just made stay with one hand on the bible and the other on her crucifix. Vegas could do with another good civilian, obviously.
