alright, now for fair warning, before i get started and you start to assume that maverick is some asshole druggy, i'd like you to take the time and think things through mav's perspective first. okay, so he's not perfect. but honestly, who is? and i'm sure you'd love him once you got to know him; if you're a girl, that is. let's start from the beginning, shall we? so he's not the perfect boyfriend, i'll get that out in the open first. his choice of hobbies sometimes organize his priorities differently, and seeing as how he tends to get bored rather easily, he's not the most attentive that he could probably be. but, can you honestly blame him? he's a guy, and if a guy isn't getting any and he has to nearly always argue with his girlfriend, then it's pretty obvious he's not going to be on her back and call twenty four seven. case closed.
he's not directly arguementive, or a trouble maker, it's just kind of something that comes naturally. he doesn't go around trying to start drama or make trouble; it follows him. yep, you heard me correctly. though when he's fired up, he will argue with anyone within a ten mile radius. he tends to get short tempered easily, and therefore will start trouble with someone if they get on his bad side. chances are if you cross him, you're inevitably on his bad list, until he either forgives, which isn't the most likely to happen, or he forgets. maverick doesn't always have the best of memories, you know. he makes friends easily, and as far as he's concerned, he's never met a stranger.
it's not that he necessarily holds grudges against people, but there's a fair few things that he doesn't like, and if you do those things he's bound to get annoyed with you. growing up where he has, there's never really been any friends that have patronized him or complained about his smoking; but that's a big no-no. if anyone tells him what to do, besides his mother, he's bound to get tired of you, and fast. he strongly dislikes being told what to do, and can become entirely stubborn if told so. he doesn't like to be treated like a child, and scolding him for anything is one of the worst things you can do. it's his life, and if he wants to smoke then he'll smoke. if he wants to drink, he'll drink. if he wants to do drugs, he'll do drugs. that's how he's always seen it, and that's probably how he always will.
typically in a good mood around his friends, his million dollar smile can be seen quite frequently. he's a naturally outgoing person, and willing thrusts himself into any social situation. he's not afraid to speak his mind, but will hold his tongue when he thinks things through. he's known to be exceedingly irrational, and does a lot of things on impulse. he enjoys getting what he wants, and he can become annoyed quickly if he doesn't. he's not what you would considering the most patient person in the world, and he can come off as an arrogant prick at times, but he's a pretty cool guy if you look past his faults. but he's so adorable, how could you not?

the year was nineteen eighty six. holden price was on a business trip, residing temporarily in a hostel in arceau, france. this is where our story begins, a flourishing young businessman and a gorgeous french model. they were destined to be together, correct? yes, you have guessed rightly. when they first met, there was an instant spark, a connection that neither could explain. she was glowing, the epitome of perfect with illuminative blonde hair and pale blue eyes; it was no wonder holden fell for the woman. they were destined to be madly in love for the remainder of their days together, but upon returning to the states after their marriage, it didn't quite remain the picture of perfection.[/ul][/ul]
for the two solid years of their would be honeymoon, holden' work schedule became heavier and heavier, leaving less time for his wife, anna, who remained stuck in their pent house apartment in the upper east side of manhattan, new to the country and still working on her english. It was just about as big a shock to them, as it was to their friends, when the couple found out they were pregnant. anna wasn't ready to be a mother, she knew that she'd miss her once flawless figure, and the thought of carrying around another person for nine months scared her. she was in a foreign country and still barely able to speak the language, how would she handle being a mother?
nevertheless, the woman adapted quite well, and by the end of the nine month period, she was more then ready to be a mother. the couple and gone round and round over what to name the child, whom they'd found out beforehand was going to be a boy, until they finally decided on allowing him to carry on the legacy of his grandfather with the full name of maverick alexander price the second. anna fell in love with the name mav instead though, and therefore began calling him that from a young age. but, back to the story. she hadn't had a scheduled delivery, due to the fact the the doctors had confirmed she wouldn't need a c-section. little did they know.
the woman had been dabbling in the religion of scientology, which believed in the art of the silent birthing process. meaning that children born in to a calm and silent environment were more likely to grow up to be intelligent and well adjusted adults then those that weren't. but maverick wasn't coming to easily. anna literally had to bite down and hold her grip on a thick terry cloth egyptian cotton towel to silence the screams that wanted to emit themselves from pain. but she got through it, promising herself no more children after maverick. they only had to remain in the hospital for two days before the three returned home, and holden was back to work even quicker then that.
from a young age maverick had a full head of blonde hair and it was no secret that he'd inherited more of his mothers genes then his fathers. he was quite rebellious too, from the very beginning of preschool. his mother found it quite unattractive, as well as his teachers. anna was basically the only person he would really listen to, considering he didn't really know his father. he grew up to be quite the charmer though, and adapted rather well to the life of the typical upper east side rich kid. but by the time he had entered middle school, maverick's parents marriage began to fall apart.
he could still remember the thrown ming vases, the screaming and slap noises, and the agony for the rest of the family after his mother had finally learned of the affair holden had been having. maverick resented his father after that, because it was he who was responsible for their now broken family. his mother was an emotional wreck, and went from man to man to fill the void his father had created. by the time he entered high school, she was onto her third marriage. every man she brought home was the same; wealthy, attractive, charming. they were all nice at first, until they'd moved in. then their true colors started to show, and the marriage ended soon after.
despite the mess his mother had become, maverick and his sister managed to hold up. he was very overprotective of them both, and they were the only ones he seemed to care about other than himself. during his sophomore year, he started dabbling in drugs. nothing hardcore at first, just something to blow off some steam, you know? his mother was in her fourth marriage at this time, with famous movie producer anthony cullens. he was the first guy that maverick actually seemed to get along with, and not just because he gave him whatever he wanted. he was the only guy that treated anna and his sister well, and who actually seemed to care.
senior year the family had moved to las vegas, nevada with anthony, and before graduating high school, maverick snagged a job with a local modeling agency, moving into a loft in the city with a couple of close friends. as the years passed, though, his experimenting with drugs turned into a full fledged addiction. after a near death experience from a drug overdose about six months ago, maverick was admitted into a rehab center, courtesy of his now ex-girlfriend. he spent a few months in treatment before being released, and hasn't spoken to her since. currently, mav is back living in the city, this time on his own, and is slowly starting to get back into modeling. he is uncannily single, as usual, and is enjoying his life as a swinger.
