happy summer to all!
we've just completed our one month anniversary, and i'm so excited that the site is still in tact. we have a lot of people away on vacation, so the site's been down and activity has hit an all time low. luckily, we still have a few members that post regularly, and we would like to thank them for their dedication! it means a bunch!
now if you haven't noticed, we have an INCREDIBLE new layout thanks to the wonderful nadia! the site looks amazing, and i think it deserves a boost! we'd like to get some new members and jump start activity once again, but seeing as this is a new site, it's hard to get the motor running. so we ask that any member who has free time, please advertise! nadia, tess, and i have been advertising like maniacs since becky is away, but we need help! just use the most current advert, make sure to be polite, and don't repost our ads on sites that already have it! this would help soooo much! also, talk to your friends on other sites and lure them in!
we would be soo appreciative and soo happy to have new members!also, soon we'll be having an activity check, because it's hard to monitor who's away and who has checked out for good. we're going to have a new system where if someone posts an away message, we will change their display name color to red so that people know who is away and what characters are still around for plotting. this may help? we'll also be deleting accounts that have been inactive for too long.
once again, here are a few tips from the admins:
- if you've created an account and you haven't posted a bio yet, get on that! you risk having your account deleted due to inactivity.
- if you've posted an unfinished bio, remember, you've got a week to complete it. we're getting strict about that rule, so any unfinished bios will be moved to the 'denied biographies' board and tess might spank you.
- if you've been accepted and you have't posted any threads, do that! if you're going to be busy, post a message so we know not to miss you too much!
- remember, if you want to create a female character, you must have at least five threads going on. this is to ensure that our male/female ratio doesn't get too drastic. you can create a male character at any time.
- BE LITERATE. if we notice that your threads are barely skimming the word minimum, we will send you a warning. if you're inactive and illiterate, we will spank you, and then delete you.
- plotplotplot! as a plot whore myself, i cannot tell you how beneficial this is! reach out to anyone - everyone's friendly here!
- POST IN THE OPEN THREADS AREA! this way, anyone browsing for something to reply to can easily skim through and find something appealing.
- take advantage of the IN CHARACTER CBOX! it was made for you! the link is right below the OOC CBOX.
- tell your friends about VLV! advertise, invite people you know, anything! the more members we have, the more fun!
- we've decided that once we hit forty members, we will host our first site-wide event. if you have any questions at all, send an admin a PM.
- also, PAGE SIX is a great place to create scandal! we've created a page six account and will be releasing the password, so anyone can log on and post some scandalous info!
- PM an admin if you have any questions, suggestions, or concerns. we're always available to help.
lastly, we may be banning females soon, as the ratio is getting somewhat out of hand. male characters are always adored, so this shouldn't be too bad!
i hope everyone is thoroughly enjoying their summer! we look forward to some great times on the site in the very near future. if you have an suggestions about revamping the site or anything at all to say, reply to this thread!
