been in vegas for how long and why: When Xadrian discovered that his father owned a lavish home in Vegas, he stopped at nothing to convince his father to let him take up residence there. Although the city of New York never got boring, Xadrian was ready for something new and Vegas seemed like the perfect fit. He’s been living there for the past two years, working as a bartender for kicks since he doesn’t need the money, and slowly gambling away the sizable savings his father gave to him after graduating college.

It’s easy to not take Xadrian seriously when you first meet him. His love of partying and other sinful activities can easily detract from the merit of what he says when he’s somewhat sober. It is often startling how quickly he can come up with a witty comment or how easily his innumerable insults roll off his tongue. Despite his reputation as an arrogant asshole, his sharp and well-formed responses give him a sort of charm that makes him still likeable to some.

Growing up with what seemed like an infinite amount of money, the word ‘no’ did not come up very often for Xadrian. He was used to getting what he wanted when he wanted, and if he got himself into any sorts of trouble, money could usually get him out of it. Of course it irritated his parents, but they were willing to help buy him out of his troubles in order to maintain their own reputation as well as their son’s happiness. As a result though, Xadrian’s has a tendency to act without considering or caring about the consequences. Part of his reason for moving to Vegas was that he could run even more rampant in the wild city and find new and exciting ways to get himself into trouble.

Xadrian is most certainly not what you would consider a respectful person. Sarcasm comes easily to him, and when he’s not being sarcastic he is most likely just spitting out an actual insult. He is very casual about what he says, because most often he really just doesn’t give a shit. In fact, that is Xadrian’s attitude about most people other than himself – he doesn’t care. So unless the circumstances actually interest him enough to put in a real effort, Xadrian will most often be cheeky and rude if you attempt to strike up a conversation with him.

Emotional connections are not Xadrian’s thing. He forms very few lasting friendships, and even fewer lasting relationships. Commitment is definitely not his thing, and one of the easiest ways to scare him off is to start talking about feelings and the future. His sarcasm and insults are an effective way for him to keep himself at a distance from people emotionally, and once the conversation gets more serious than that he most often will try to get out of it. Some of the time he makes a physical effort to keep himself from caring, but often the act is effortless. Most people aren’t able to earn enough respect or interest from him to keep him involved. And if they are, he’ll do his best to steer clear of it.

When Xadrian wants something, he rarely gives up until he gets it. In some aspects of life he is quite lazy, but when he sets his mind to it there is no stopping him. When his focus was on succeeding in school, he excelled. When it was convincing his father to let him stay in his house in Vegas, there was no stopping him. When it comes to women, he is the same way. It’s the people who intrigue him yet refuse to talk to him that he insists on winning over. However, once he gets what he wants it becomes much less appealing to him and he often gives up on it. Though he is persistent, he has a short attention span when it comes to most things.

Xadrian has grown accustomed to getting everything he wants throughout his entire life. Not only does he have money, but he is also incredibly capable and bright. Thus, the notion of losing at anything is terrifying to him, and he is very stubborn about giving up on things he wants. His persistence displays his refusal to accept losing at anything. He rarely strives toward anything he believes he cannot achieve, but when he does he gets extremely frustrated and will either go crazy trying to pursue his goal or give up on it and brood for a while about his failure. Although Xadrian isn’t usually one to dwell, losing at anything isn’t something he forgets easily.

Emotional independence is very important to Xadrian, and the idea of relying on another person for his own happiness is something he hopes to never experience. Committing to someone is not worth the risk of losing them once you get attached, plus the idea of caring about someone so much doesn’t appeal to Xadrian at all. But, he is only human, and there is always the possibility he’ll start to fall for someone. However, he’ll do anything he can to keep it from happening.

Xadrian has always lived off his parents’ wealth and although he’s had jobs they were only low-paying jobs he did for fun. He’s become addicted to the wealthy lifestyle he leads, and as he grows older the need to make his own living has become more and more frightening to him. The more money he loses to gambling and frivolous things, the more worried he becomes about somehow finding a way to continue depending on his parents for his wealth.
secrets: Xadrian doesn’t keep many secrets, as he often doesn’t care enough to hide the details of his life from those around him. However, when it comes to his pride there are certain things he refuses to let anyone know. One of these things is the fact that the money his parents have given him is beginning to run out because of his reckless spending and gambling. He hasn’t even told his father for fear that he’ll cut him off from receiving any more money if he discovers how wasteful he’s been with what he first had. Another thing he keeps to himself is the fact that his father decided that Xadrian would not take over his company when he retired. Being an only child, Xadrian had always assumed his father would hand his company over to him when he retired or died, but apparently he thought he wasn’t capable enough and would rather hand it over to someone outside of the family.
