I'VE JUST SEEN A FACE
character name: Nicholas Abner Redwell. nicknames: Nick. age: 24. gender: Male. sexuality: Heterosexual. pb: Penn Badgley.
THE LONG WINDING ROAD
occupation: System And Data Analyst (Computer Scientist).
residence: A nice pent-house.
been in vegas for how long and why: Nick's been in Vegas for three years, ever since a job took him to the city. He began, through a friend's recommendation, counting cards and found that it was very fruitful so he decided to move permanently into the city where he has a good, steady job as a computer analyst while, every once in a while, raiding the casinos. He finds he enjoys the luxurious life.
FULL OF EXCITING STORIES
likes: Control, fine living, chess, his work, winning, the movement of the city, fooling the idiots, his apartment, science, smart women.
dislikes: Being patronized, losing, people who don't take anything seriously, settling, tv, phones ringing, penetrating smells, security guards, physical confrontation, slow technology.
personality: Hyperactive. Harsh . Controlling. Condescending . Resourceful. Proactive. Intelligent.
It is very hard for Nick to stand still for too long. His mind is always racing and he is constantly coming up with something to do. He talks fast, walks fast, drives fast and even eats fast. Time is money. No, he might not be one to stop and smell the roses but he really isn’t dying to. It’s just that he is aware of his talent and likes to be constantly creating, always in motion. “I’ll sleep when I’m dead.” The guy is very honest; most of the time he isn't the most tactful person in the world and it might have gained him a few enemies, but he doesn’t believe in euphemism and sugarcoating. He’s straightforward and expects his loved ones and colleagues to be the same with him. Those who are close to him, know not to take most of his remarks personally. Because Nick does really try to be nice to those he cares for and about (and as a boyfriend he’s quite the spoiler), he just doesn’t always succeed.
Then again, Nick is super smart and a very quick learner. His memory is uncanny, photographic and he is able to repeat long phrases from hearing them once or to imitate procedures after just one look. Very observant, Nick is constantly taking in details from around, very aware of his surroundings and can be on to several things at a time. A cold, insufferable, frivolous genius.
Nick has a lot of initiative, what with his brain always so full of ideas. He would be a great leader if only he learned to listen more to others. More of a dictator than a team captain. A bit anal and meticulous with his projects, which is why values the alone work he’s able to do and prefers to rely on others as little as possible. Nicholas has a bit of a superiority complex and unintentionally finds himself talking down to others or looking at them down his nose; yet, a good trait of his, is that he isn’t one to sit around and bitch about his problems; at the first sign of an obstacle, he is already coming up with solutions and applying them. fears: Bankruptcy; Nick's not ever afraid of going to prison if he's got a decent bank account because with money you can always buy protection; you can buy anything, really. He has managed to detach himself from the underprivileged life he grew up in and is not keen on going back to anything resembling it. Ever. Losing his mind is one of his biggest fears; he's convinced that his brains is what can get him anything he wants, fool the system and have a prosperous life; he's afraid of getting Alzheimer's or a similar disease and he has drawn out the odds, just to be prepared. Once he is rich and plentiful he will most likely work on finding a cure for it. His third phobia is enclosed spaces; he can't help calculating how fast the oxygen could run out whenever he needs to be chucked in a tiny room either by himself or in the company of others (which really stresses him out to no end). It is one way to keep himself fit, though, because never uses the elevator. Just the stairs.
secrets: That little claustrophobia of his is not known to everyone because Nick considers this to be a weakness on his part and he despises weakness. His voiced reason for always taking the stairs is vanity and when forced to be cooped up with someone in a small room or something of the sort, if he didn’t manage to avoid the situation, will attempt to use all of his will power to calm himself down or blame his malaise on low blood pressure most likely. His other secret is the deep resentment he holds towards the life his parents gave him. He has never actually vocally blamed them for struggling all through his childhood and he really doesn’t want to, nor does he talk ill of them to other people, but Nick does feel really bitter at the fact that they were stupid and brought him into a mediocre environment.
goals: To make lots of money, of course. Just like everyone else. Nick wants eventually retire from work (and card counting) and dedicate his time to creating something that'll change the world (cure terrible diseases, stop world hunger, fix the ozone layer, make Mars habitable, you name it) and hopefully earns him a Nobel price. With Nobel price, you’re Golden, and the only thing nicer than dying rich, is also being remembered after you die. Oh, yeah, and he would like to find a steady girlfriend and have a family who can inherit his earnings and be proud of him.
WHEN I GET HOME
family: Magda, his mother, is 38 and a catalog saleswoman and housewife; she's very loving but a bit spacey. Harvey, his father, is 40 and a car salesman; he's very hard working and a bit harsh and Nick takes after him a lot. history: Magda and Harvey were not even yet out of high school when she got pregnant with Nicholas. Both being from middle class families with good old values, the two teens were married and Harvey had to skip college in order to find a job that would support his new wife and child.
The child, Nicholas, turned out to be special, though. He could put together very difficult puzzles by the age of two and learned to read before any of his little classmates. He had a great memory and could learn anything from looking how it was done once. This included card games. His teachers suggested to Harvey and Magda that they enroll him in advanced lessons for special kids like himself but unfortunately, this special school for gifted children was to expensive for them to even dream it and so Nick had to settle for being better than his peers at a public school. He would find several ways to make money as he grew up, anything from doing homeworks (even for kids on higher levels) and winning chess tournaments.
At age sixteen, he graduated high school and enrolled in university where he majored in physics before doing a masters in computer science. After that, he would travel all over the country doing freelance work for several companies and it wasn't until he visited Vegas, that he knew where the money really was. See, Nick grew up having all of his opportunities thwarted due to economic crisis, his talents wasted. Money, doing well and fine things are aspects he cares about deeply. So it is that he began counting cards (not gambling) aside from his job as an analyst and now he's able to wear nice suits while residing in Vegas.
It's hard to pick a best memory as Nick has several heart-warming moments to choose from when he wants a boost. For example, spending one afternoon on his own at home when he was a small boy and he took apart every electronic device the house held so as to observe how they worked on the inside and he even managed to repair a few broken appliances for his mother. They were so proud he was rewarded with ice cream for dinner. Like this memory, there's many moments in Nick's life when he felt the pleasure of achieving something he knew others like him couldn't.
Not unlike above, Nick can recall many moments filled with dread, anger and disappointment and it almost always had to do with the fact that, since his family had very little money, the extent of his education was very limited for someone with his brains. Sticking in public school, not going to the college of his choice, not being able to travel to those math competitions that took place in different states, et cetera.
Since academics were never an issue for him, Nick was able to dedicate some time to sports since childhood, often switching from one physical activity to another. There was never one that stuck with him but at least he kept himself active and in shape in order to compensate for the amount of time he spent with chess boards, text books and electronic devices. So, all in all, Nick's got a pretty good and healthy body. He cares enough about looks to shave regularly and keep his hair looking nice, but mostly he relies on fine clothing to make himself look good. pets: None.

sorry, but most of this is too short. the personality especially, we are expected at least 3 paragraphs and 7 characteristics. take a look at some of the accepted bios to get an idea.
also the secrets, fears and goals. a well developed paragraph. after that, we will reconsider.
